This course appeals to students who possess a genuine interest in making meaningful contributions to society and shaping its trajectory through the application of mathematical approaches to the complex challenges of the modern world. It serves as a pathway towards Stage 2 Mathematical Methods and Stage 2 Specialist Mathematics, with the latter intended to be studied in conjunction with Mathematical Methods.
To enrol in this course, it is expected that students are either currently undertaking or have successfully completed Mathematical Methods A or an equivalent course.
Furthermore, a solid grasp of Year 10 Mathematics and Year 10 Pre Methods Mathematics, or their equivalents, is assumed as a prerequisite for this course.
Upon successful completion of this course with a grade of C or higher, students will fulfil the mandatory 10-point Numeracy component of the SACE.
