Students interested in exploring the everyday use of English, including informal and formal communication, visual and written texts, and text creation.
NOTE: Completion of this course with C grade or higher meets part of the compulsory literacy component of SACE.
This course leads to Stage 2 Essential English.
You will create and respond to texts for a range of personal, social, cultural and community contexts.
You will have the opportunity to explore a range of text types across four tasks. These may include analysing language in a variety of forms, writing narratives or recounts, evaluating workplace instructional texts, composing an oral presentation, reviewing a film, and creating poetry or lyrics.
Assessment will be based on:
At least one鈥痑ssessment will be an oral or multimodal presentation, and at least one will be in written form.
